Day Shift Team Leader
Reporting To: Shift Leader/Production Manager
Purpose:
To manage and coordinate operations within one or more designated laundry areas, optimising the performance of operators and machines while ensuring the achievement of established goals for quality, health and safety, and the environment.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with Shift Leader/Production Manager to adjust and agree on daily plans
- Coordinate work schedules, address performance issues, and ensure health & safety and work environment standards are met.
Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team to meet production or operational goals.
- Ensure team members follow company policies and procedures.
- Provide staff with information and assistance on human resources matters as needed.
- To meet with the Shift Leader/Production Manager on a regular basis to provide them with status reports for their area(s), to review performance, to agree corrective actions, and to report progress with respect to actions previously agreed
Stock Management:
- Work with Shift Leader/Production Manager to determine appropriate stock of work-in-process stocks for continuous workflow while minimising changeovers.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
Workplace Organisation:
- Maintain areas under control in a clean and orderly manner.
- Implement a system for proper organisation with clear areas for all equipment and materials.
Maintenance Coordination:
- Ensure that maintenance interventions align with the approved plan and involve both internal and third-party resources.
Continuous Improvement:
- Work with Shift Leader/ Production Manager and the maintenance team to drive continuous improvements.
- Ensure improvements are integrated into the Plant’s Quality System.
Resource Efficiency and Compliance:
- Ensure that resources are used efficiently, and Quality System procedures are followed at all times.
Project Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with Shift Leader/Production Manager to design and implement improvement projects.
Reporting:
- Record and submit data in a timely and accurate manner.
- Regularly meet with Shift Leader/Production Manager to provide status reports, review performance, and agree on corrective actions.
Production Target Achievement:
- Take responsibility for utilising available manpower and resources to meet production targets.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:
- A Good Knowledge of the manufacturing production process from Intake to End of Line
- An ability to multitask without feeling pressured
- Good at analysing, problem solving and being innovative in introducing new ideas.
- Good at both working within and directing teams
- Comfortable with/open to, working with IT Systems and Machine/Equipment Control Panels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Hepatitis B vaccination is a mandatory requirement for this role and will be provided upon commencement if not already completed
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent level of English required
