Site Supervisor
Duration: 12 Month Specified Contract
Location: Ballyboden, Co. Dublin
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 16:30pm
Overview of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our Water and Wastewater Treatment division. The successful candidate will supervise construction site operations, lead site teams and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across multiple projects. This role combines site management oversight with technical supervision and quality assurance responsibilities.
The Site Supervisor will work alongside Project Manager and Construction Site Manager, coordinating multi-disciplined teams and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Reporting to the onsite Construction Site Manager daily and assist and implement across all Construction activities as deemed necessary
Supervise and coordinate all site-based operatives and subcontractors in accordance with Veolia Minimum Requirements (VMR)
Develop and maintain comprehensive Health & Safety documentation on site, including H&S files, method statements, and risk assessments
Conduct regular H&S audits, toolbox talks, and safety inductions for all site personnel
Identify, prevent and report unsafe behaviour, defects and events on site, updating systems as required
Manage day-to-day site operations including work quality control, cleanliness, tidiness, plant and tool usage, waste reduction and PPE compliance
Oversee equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities in coordination with multi-disciplined engineering teams
Chair daily coordination meetings and contribute to weekly progress reviews
Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, identifying and managing risks and opportunities
Liaise with Project Managers, Design Teams, Clients, Contractors and Veolia Risk & Assurance department as required
Provide supervision cover for the Construction Site Manager in their absence
Ensure compliance with Environmental Plans, Waste Management Plans, Construction H&S Plans, Emergency Plans and Project Schedules
Manage material conformance and workmanship quality against Project Quality Plans
Prepare site reports and attend client progress meetings as required
Assist with accident/incident investigations in a timely manner
Support the use and rollout of Veolia management systems and processes across sites
Required Qualifications & Experience
Mechanical or Electrical Trade background with progression to supervisory/management level (Desirable)
Minimum 5-7 years' site-based experience in construction or water/wastewater industry
Practical site experience with multi-discipline projects (Essential)
Previous experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment plants (Desirable)
UCD/NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent (Desirable)
Full clean driving licence (Essential)
Experience in accident/incident investigation and risk management
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs)
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work on own initiative and coordinate multiple site activities
Problem-solving and proactive approach to resolving technical difficulties
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice
Self-motivated with ability to influence and drive improvements
Commercial awareness and dispute resolution skills
Flexibility to move between sites for installation and commissioning phases
