We are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworks Operative to join our team in Galway.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundworks and civil construction duties on site.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and site regulations at all times.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and correctly for each task.
- Wear all required PPE including safety boots, helmets, gloves, goggles, and other protective equipment where necessary.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Report any faults, defects, accidents, or unsafe conditions to site supervision immediately.
- Work safely and avoid unnecessary risks to yourself and others on site.
- Assist in identifying and removing site hazards where possible.
- Only operate machinery or plant that you are trained and authorised to use.
- Support and promote safe working practices among all employees and subcontractors.
- Keep welfare facilities clean and report misuse where necessary.
- Suggest improved or safer working methods when identified.
Requirements
- Previous experience in groundworks or civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of site safety practices and construction procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Valid right to work in Ireland.
- Full Irish driving licence.
- Current Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates.
- Additional construction tickets/certifications are desirable.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with drainage, kerbing, concreting, and pipe laying.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Pay: €17.27-€25.99 per hour
