Job Description

As part of our continued growth and expanding operations, we are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice (Phase 3 or nearing completion of Phase 2) to join our field operations team based from our headquarters in Donaskeagh, Co. Tipperary.
This is an exciting opportunity to continue your apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience working alongside experienced electricians on residential solar PV installations and electrical projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will receive practical on-site training, mentorship, and exposure to a rapidly growing industry with excellent long-term career prospects.
Purpose of the Role
The Electrical Apprentice will support qualified electricians and installation crews in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical and solar PV installations. This role is designed to provide practical experience across a wide variety of projects while helping the apprentice develop the technical skills, knowledge, and confidence required to progress through their apprenticeship and become a fully qualified electrician.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced crew leads and electricians, assisting with installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist field operations teams with solar and battery installations, following instructions from qualified electricians and team leads.
- Learn and apply electrical principles, regulations, and Mitros installation standards to build competence and confidence on-site.
- Support preparation, setup, and safe working practices for all installation activities.
- Contribute to the completion of installations to ensure systems are ready for QC and commissioning.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Take responsibility for ongoing learning and development, progressing through apprenticeship phases with guidance from mentors.

Key Requirements
- Currently registered as an Electrical Apprentice.
- Phase 3 apprentice preferred, although candidates nearing completion of Phase 2 will also be considered.
- Full driver's licence is essential.
- Ability to meet your Crew Lead each morning before travelling to site.
- Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and commitment to high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Interest in renewable energy and electrical installations.
**Pay is in line with Connect Trade Union apprentice rates. Daily subsistence and travel rates are not included in the ranges shown.**
