JOB TITLE: Farm Relations Advisor
JOB PURPOSE: To provide advice and support at farm level in relation to current & emerging DAFM requirements and to build and maintain strong relationships with ArraTipp milk suppliers.
REPORTING TO: Farm Relations Manager
LOCATION: Galway
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Farm Advisory in all aspects with particular attention to raw milk quality with focused improvements among the ArraTipp milk pool.
Promote and drive strong milk quality standards at farm level, acting as advisor and trusted sounding board for farmers.
Working closely with milk suppliers to ensure the quality, safety, and traceability of raw milk supply ArraTipp Co-op
Collaborating closely with new entrants & managing the new entrant programme for ArraTipp.
Close working relationship with Regulatory Bodies (e.g., Department of Agriculture, Animal Health Ireland, Bord Bia)
Manage and supervise the BORD BIA database to ensure the ArraTipp milk pool is SDAS compliant and meeting Grass-fed requirements.
Manage an SCC & TBC improvement programme for the ArraTipp milk pool.
Reporting to the Farm Relations Manager on any farm/milk quality issues arising and assisting in problem solving.
Promote farm sustainability initiatives at farm level that will make an environmental and economic benefit to our milk suppliers.
Direct support to Bord Bia farm inspection program / ArraTipp farm inspections
Aid in the planning and coordination of farm walks/farm events.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:
Degree in Agriculture, Food or related.
Strong knowledge of the agricultural sector and current best practice in sustainability and quality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience of regulatory inspections a distinct advantage.
Excellent people skills, with ability to form, develop and maintain successful working relationships.
Excellent computer skills.
Able to manage high levels of responsibility.
Possesses elevated levels of motivation.
