Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef/Deli chef to join our dynamic team in our food trucks at Bettystown House. This role is to join our team who work in our food truck, serving delicious sandwiches & salads, which are all served on our own homemade breads & rolls. We have recently expanded our offering in our food trucks with more expansion coming soon and due to popular demand, we are growing our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing stocks for hot sandwiches, salads etc. and managing service in our new state of the art deli section. Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare stocks and ingredients for service according to established recipes and standards
- Deli Service: Work in the deli section efficiently, assisting customers, and delivering exceptional service
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including food preparation areas, cooking equipment, and serving stations
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels of ingredients and inform management of any shortages or discrepancies
- Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
- Team Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation during service hours and ensure there is strong communication to ensure everything runs smoothly
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Remain calm and focused under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed
- Creativity and Innovation: Contribute to menu planning and development by suggesting new dishes, ingredients, and techniques. Experiment with flavours, textures, and presentations to create unique and memorable culinary experiences
- Passion for Culinary Excellence: Demonstrate a genuine passion for food and cooking. Strive for continuous improvement in culinary skills and knowledge through ongoing learning and professional development. Take pride in the quality of work and craftsmanship, reflecting a dedication to excellence in every dish served
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role
Familiarity with good quality local ingredients and a commitment to using them
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious food
Food safety and hygiene certification (HACCP)
