About the role
Maurice Doody Sales is a long-established Limerick tool and industrial supply distributor. We’re looking for an experienced bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day financial record-keeping on a part-time basis. This is a new role and would suit someone who enjoys working independently and bringing order to a set of books.
Responsibilities
• Maintain the purchase and sales ledgers, including supplier invoice processing and customer invoicing
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and supplier statements
• Prepare and file VAT returns in line with Revenue deadlines
• Support credit control - issuing statements and following up on overdue accounts
• Maintain accurate records in Sage and keep filing up to date
• Prepare information for our accountant at year end
• Produce basic financial reports for management as required
What we’re looking for
Essential:
• Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within an SME
• Experience with an accounting package - Sage experience a distinct advantage
• Solid Excel skills
• Working knowledge of VAT and Revenue requirements
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
Desirable:
• Accounting Technician qualification (IATI) or equivalent
• Experience in a wholesale, distribution or trade supply environment
Pay: €22.00-€28.00 per hour
