The interior of this 4-star hotel now features exciting new eateries alongside 122 spacious and comfortable ensuite bedrooms, including a selection of large suites. Two bright and versatile event spaces, along with four meeting suites, provide the perfect setting for conferences and events of all sizes, from 5 to 200 guests.

About The Role
The Plaza Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and professional Duty Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent customer service experience, and the ability to manage hotel operations with confidence and professionalism.
As a key member of the management team, the Duty Manager will oversee the smooth running of daily hotel operations, support front office activities, and ensure every guest receives a warm, efficient, and memorable experience. You will act as a point of contact for guests and colleagues, resolving issues effectively while maintaining the high standards expected at The Plaza Hotel.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise and support the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring a high level of service at all times

Welcome guests and provide a warm, friendly, and professional first impression

Oversee check-in and check-out procedures and assist with front desk operations

Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints in a timely and professional manner

Resolve guest concerns efficiently while ensuring customer satisfaction

Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and other departments to ensure smooth operations

Carry out regular property checks and address any issues promptly

Assist with room allocations, reservations, and operational decisions when required

Ensure hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety standards are followed

Manage emergency situations calmly and professionally when required

Complete shift handovers, reports, and general administrative duties

Support training and development of team members

Act as the senior point of contact for guests and staff during assigned shifts
Requirements

Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a similar position within the hospitality industry

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong leadership ability with the confidence to manage a team

Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards

Computer skills and experience with hotel reservation systems desirable

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
