Area Manager for Childcare Company Based in Sligo
Job Description:
We are currently recruiting an experienced Area Manager to join our growing group of early years services in Sligo. This is a senior leadership role within a larger organisation, responsible for overseeing the operational, regulatory, and quality performance of multiple creches.
The Role:
As Area Manager, you will provide leadership and support to Centre Managers, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, and act as a key link between individual services and senior management. You will have accountability for quality standards, operational performance, and continuous improvement across your assigned services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of 3–4 creches
- Lead, mentor, and support Centre Managers
- Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, Aistear, Síolta, and internal standards
- Prepare centres for inspections and manage follow-up actions
- Monitor staffing, occupancy, budgets, and KPIs
- Drive quality improvement and best practice across services
- Work closely with the General Manager on strategy and performance
- Act as an escalation point for complex operational or parent issues
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior management or multi-site role within early years or other organisation
- Strong knowledge of TUSLA regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Full driving licence and ability to travel between services
- Minimum QQI Level 5 Certification in Childcare (or international equivalent)
