We are looking for an energetic, systems-driven Manager to run our daily operations and lead our fantastic team into its next chapter.The Role:
As our Manager, you will hold the keys to the daily success of both the retail shop and the cafe. This is a hands-on role where you will divide your time between floor management, customer service, and operational organization. You will have the autonomy to run daily floor operations, implement training systems, and shape a positive, high-performing team culture.Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Accountability: Establish, communicate, and maintain clear daily standards for cafe and retail staff. You will oversee onboarding, ongoing training, and coaching to ensure the team delivers consistent, excellent service.
- Daily Operations: Manage opening and closing routines, till reconciliations, cash handling, and the creation of weekly staff schedules.
- Stock & Supplier Management: Maintain strong relationships with our local farms and wholesalers. Manage fresh food inventory, ordering schedules, and stock rotation (FIFO) to minimize waste.
- Compliance & Food Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Food Safety regulations, daily temperature logs, cleaning rotas, and allergen tracking.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Systems-Minded: Someone who thrives on implementing clear, repeatable processes (such as checklists) so the team always knows exactly what is expected of them.
- Patient yet Firm Leader: A manager who leads by example, enjoys developing junior staff, and confidently holds people accountable to standards without getting easily frustrated.
- Experienced: Minimum 2+ years of experience in hospitality, restaurant, or retail management (Cafe or Farm Shop experience is highly desirable).
- Organised & Proactive: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to keep a cool head during busy weekend rushes.
