At The Great Southern Killarney, our purpose is to be the reason every stay becomes a story. We are looking for a Guest Services Porter to join our team.
Every team member plays an important role in creating memorable stays for our guests, we are looking for someone who is energetic, friendly and hardworking. Someone who can consistently provide a high standard of service and contribute to the overall guest experience.
Purpose of the position
As a key part of our front-of-house team, you’ll provide outstanding service to guests from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. This is a dynamic, guest-facing role that involves assisting with luggage, providing local area knowledge, and ensuring all guest needs are met promptly and professionally.
Key delivery areas:
- Greet guests with a friendly, professional attitude
- Assist with luggage handling, storage, and transportation
- Provide concierge services, including booking transportation, recommending local attractions and restaurants, and arranging tours
- Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve issues with a guest-first mindset
- Maintain the lobby and entry areas to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
- Support front desk and other departments as needed
- To assist with guest requests and provide excellent guest care at all times
- To perform security checks at regular intervals.
- Complete manual handling duties within the hotel such as furniture removal / deliveries of boxes etc.
- To observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions specified are adhered to.
What you will bring:
- Great local knowledge of Killarney / Ireland
- At least 1 year experience in a similar role at 4* or 5* level is preferable
- Thorough Understanding of the importance of Customer Experience and uncompromising standards of excellence
- High Attention to Detail
- Willingness to work in various functions across departments
- Great communication skills – ability to clearly communicate with guests and management and staff across a variety of nationalities and experience levels
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Energetic, Friendly, Approachable, Professional, Courteous and Well Groomed
- Have the ability to maintain accuracy and speed whilst working under pressure
- Focused on providing a consistently high standard of service and hygiene
- Be standards driven, a team player, flexible
- Possess the ability to work under pressure
- Have excellent organisational skills
