MAIN DUTIES
Quality Governance, Clinical Compliance and Training:
-
Have complete oversight of your area to ensure high competence and compliance levels and report any areas of concern to the Compliance Manger
-
To anticipate and identify improvements needed and address deficiencies in the quality of service provided. This will include service development needs, education development and assistance in the development of policies, audit processes and patient safety initiatives.

Ensuring clinical compliance as per current HSE Tender Specification
-
Provide clinical input to assist in the preparation for HQIA's introduction as directed by the Compliance Manager
-
Assist Operations team with clinical compliance reviews as agreed with Compliance Manager as per priorities allow.

Have complete oversight of all Governance and clinical issues for your area and provide weekly updates to Quality Manager for same.
- Identify Clinical Governance patterns or trends that require escalation or investigation and assist with same.

Assist compliance team as required with internally audits for Client and Staff files, with particular focus on the clinical aspects of assessments and care.

As part of the governance team, day to day management, provide day to day support to the operations teams in your area.

Be responsible for establishing and keeping track of quality improvement and other information that concerns patient care

Contribute to the continuous quality improvement
Clinical Support:
- Provide clinical support on request of client care managers and assist with complex patient care reviews and assessments.

To carry out regular risk assessments to identify clinical risks and prevent accidents and Support Client Care Manager's in appropriate incident management systems for incidents, complaints, adverse incidents and safeguarding concerns

Support Clients and Client Care Managers with clinical care and complex needs advice and revert to HSE/ Public Health/Safeguarding office where necessary.
Training and Development:
-
Conduct staff training for induction, epilepsy and manual handling refresher training
-
Service development for example, intellectual disabilities
-
Ensure appropriate training is in place for all staff and advocate for staff training needs when required.

Identifying gaps in training where we can make improvements for our carers to provide better care to our clients

Work with Training team to ensure clinical content of material meets ROI legislative requirements and NMBI standards
Other:

Liaise with the designated stakeholders relative to the Area i.e. Public Health Nurse & HSE whilst promoting an open and transparent working culture
Actively seek feedback from internal and external stakeholders, staff, clients and relatives to look at service improvement and achieving positive outcomes for those who use our services.

Contribute to policy review, development and implementation as needed

ESSENTIAL CRITERA

Active on the NMBI Register - General Nurse Division
-
Minimum of 3 years' experience in an acute setting

Hold a current full clean driving license
- Have strong teamwork ability but also a high degree of self-motivation to take initiative and work alone
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Previous experience working within home care
Certification in wound care
Certification in Epilepsy awareness
Certification in Dementia awareness

Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multitask in an everchanging environment
