Grayling Properties is looking to hire a Grounds & Maintenance Operative to join our existing maintenance team, looking after residential properties across North and South Dublin city.
This is a hands-on, outdoors-led role. You'll keep the gardens, grounds and communal areas of our residential buildings looking cared-for year-round — and take care of the practical, everyday maintenance jobs that keep the buildings running.
You do not need trade qualifications. If you take pride in your work, are happy to be outside in all weathers, and are willing to turn your hand to basic repairs, we'll show you the rest.
What You'll Do
Gardening & Grounds (the main part of the job)
- Mowing, edging and general grass care
- Weeding and weed control
- Pruning shrubs and bushes, trimming hedges
- Clearing and disposing of green waste
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy, swept and litter-free
Cleaning & Waste
- Sweeping and disinfecting bin sheds
- Removing rubbish and abandoned bulky items
- Moss/algae removal and power-washing paths, walls and hard surfaces
Everyday Maintenance (practical tasks — full training given)
- Replacing external lightbulbs
- Fixing loose fence panels and tightening gate latches
- Touching up exterior paint and gloss
- Clearing drains and gullies to prevent flooding
- Walking communal areas to spot and report issues — blown bulbs, damp smells, trip hazards, or items blocking fire escapes
- Keeping storage and meter cupboards clear and tidy
- Some light painting where required in common areas
Working With the Seasons
- Spring — clear winter debris, pressure-wash grime, prune and refresh
- Summer — regular mowing, weeding and keeping fast-growing hedges in check
- Autumn — leaf clearing and keeping drains and gullies flowing
- Winter — gritting steps and walkways, isolating outdoor taps, and ground-level checks for blockages
What We're Looking For
- Someone who genuinely enjoys outdoor and gardening work
- Practical and willing to learn basic maintenance and repairs, to grow your skill set with our existing maintenance team
- Reliable, self-motivated and happy working independently
- Takes pride in keeping places clean, safe and well-presented
- Comfortable working outside across all seasons
Nice to have (not essential):
Any DIY, handyperson or grounds experience.
Company vehicle may be available, subject to role requirements and candidate circumstances
Pay: €38,000.00-€44,000.00 per year
