Soft Landscaping Lead

Carragh Landscapes is a leading landscape design, construction and maintenance company delivering high-end residential and commercial projects throughout Dublin and the surrounding counties.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Soft Landscaping Lead to oversee the delivery of all soft landscaping and horticultural elements across our projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious lead soft landscaper who is passionate about plants, committed to excellence, and looking to play a key role within a progressive and growing company.
The successful candidate will lead the planning and implementation of planting schemes, ensure the highest horticultural standards are achieved on every project, and provide technical guidance and leadership to site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of all soft landscaping works across residential and commercial projects.
- Interpret planting plans and specifications, ensuring accurate installation and exceptional presentation.
- Oversee plant procurement, quality control and selection in collaboration with approved nurseries and suppliers.
- Supervise planting operations, ensuring correct horticultural techniques and best practice are consistently applied.
- Manage the establishment and aftercare of newly installed landscapes, including irrigation, staking, pruning, feeding and plant health monitoring.
- Identify and diagnose plant pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies, implementing appropriate management strategies.
- Mentor, train and support horticultural staff, promoting high standards of workmanship and continuous professional development.
- Coordinate daily work programmes, labour and resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain excellent communication with project managers, landscape architects, clients and suppliers.
- Promote best practice in health and safety and ensure all works comply with company procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years in Landscaping Industry
- Significant experience in horticulture, soft landscaping or landscape establishment.
- Extensive plant knowledge, including trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, ornamental grasses and seasonal planting.
- Strong understanding of planting design, soil management and plant establishment.
- Proven ability to lead teams and organise horticultural operations on site.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
- Full, clean Irish driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience delivering high-specification residential or commercial landscape projects.
- PA1/PA6 certification.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
- Experience operating horticultural machinery and specialist equipment.

Pay: €27,291.07-€47,475.59 per year
