Job Purpose
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Driver / Yard Operative with plumbing knowledge to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering products safely and efficiently to customers, supporting daily yard operations, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring the yard is organised, safe, and well-stocked.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver plumbing and building materials to customers safely and on time.
Load and unload vehicles while ensuring goods are handled correctly.
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
Assist customers in the yard with loading materials.
Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries.
Work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure excellent customer service.
Carry out general yard duties as required.
Skills & Experience
Full clean Category B driving licence (Category C desirable).
Previous experience in a builders' merchant, plumbing merchant, warehouse, or yard environment.
Good knowledge of plumbing products and materials.
Forklift licence desirable (training may be provided).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
