TelLab are currently seeking an Experienced Laboratory Analyst with a 3rd level qualification in Chemistry to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Environmental Laboratory, where you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to our mission of providing high-quality analytical services in environmental testing.
As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tasks related to quality analysis, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations (ISO 17025), and providing accurate and reliable data for client reporting.
Shift: 08:30am to 17:00, Monday to Friday (subject to change - our operational hours are 07:30am - 06:00pm).
What you will do
- Perform a wide range of chemical analyses on environmental samples, including fuel, water, and dust, using advanced instrumentation such as IC, ICP-MS, AAS and Spectrometer.
- Ensure that all analyses are performed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices, producing accurate, high-quality data for client reporting and compliance purposes.
- Regularly calibrate and maintain lab instruments to ensure consistent, accurate test results.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in results, addressing any deviations with corrective actions.
- Assist with additional laboratory tasks or special projects, including equipment troubleshooting, inventory management, and assisting in the preparation of laboratory reports or documentation.
- Be flexible and proactive in responding to unexpected needs, contributing to the lab’s overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Who you are
You are an experienced and motivated professional who brings a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You will ideally have:

A 3rd Level Qualification in Chemistry or Environmental Science or a closely related scientific discipline is required, providing a solid foundation in chemical principles and laboratory practices.
- Hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and safety protocols is an advantage.
- Experience in method development and validation, demonstrating your ability to improve and optimise testing processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency is desirable.
- Proficient in LIMS & Microsoft Office is an advantage.
