Based in Western Industrial Estate, Dublin 12, Peterson Manufacturing Limited provide a range of services from Sheet Metal, General Engineering and High-Volume Manufacturing to Structural Engineering and large Specialised Engineering Projects.
We are looking for a candidate with a background in sheet/metal fabrication with a knowledge of fabrication processes and welding as well as reading and understanding shop floor/production drawings.
Job purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure all products are manufactured to a high level of quality that meets customer expectations. The engineer will develop and maintain systems to measure quality performance and report findings, liaising with managers and staff, and coordinating procedures to address any deficiencies.
Duties and responsibilities
- Applying good manufacturing practice and observing that it is being adhered to.
- Performing tests and measurements using existing measurement equipment.
- Participating in teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to all process related issues in the production department.
- Developing and implementing the company quality management system.
- Maintaining and controlling calibration records for all test and inspection equipment.
- Analysing, identifying and implementing manufacturing and/or business process improvements which will improve capability and performance.
- Creating and maintaining company documentation, such as quality manuals, and quality procedures.
- Troubleshooting problems or flaws in the item provided for testing.
- Meeting with members of the production team to offer recommendations and share results.
Starting rate will vary depending on experience.
