Position Overview
I am currently assisting my client, a well established civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Ireland, in the recruitment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
The successful candidate will support the commercial delivery of a major BusConnects infrastructure project in the Dublin region. This role requires strong quantity surveying experience within construction, civils, utilities, road infrastructure, or similar contractor side environments, along with a good working knowledge of NEC contracts.
Candidates must be willing to travel to project sites as required. A full clean driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities
- Support the commercial management of a major infrastructure project.
- Prepare cost reports, cost value reports, forecasts, and commercial updates.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, losses, and cost saving measures.
- Manage variations, change control, claims, contractual notices, and project correspondence.
- Review and update risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time trackers.
- Support subcontractor procurement, account reviews, payment assessments, and final accounts.
- Measure, price, negotiate, and agree budgets, variations, and project costs.
- Review supplier requisitions, subcontractor documents, payment certificates, and accounts.
- Advise on contractual matters at project and general commercial level.
- Liaise with customers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, accounts, and internal project teams.
- Assist with project cash management and monthly commercial reporting.
- Support and guide junior surveyors where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction, civils, utilities, or infrastructure.
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or strong Project Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
- Civils, drainage, utilities, water, electricity, roads, or infrastructure experience is essential.
- Contractor side commercial experience is highly desirable.
- Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent is essential.
- Strong experience with cost reporting, variations, claims, subcontractor management, final accounts, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident, motivated, and able to work independently, as part of a team, and support others.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Full clean driving licence is essential.

Work Location: In person
