AUDIT JOB DESCRIPTION
The BDO Audit Graduate Programme is designed for graduates who are eager to build a career in accountancy and gain hands-on experience working with a broad range of clients.
As part of the Audit team, you will work alongside experienced professionals while supporting our clients. You will be involved in assisting in the preparation of financial statements, analysing financial information, and helping clients meet their reporting and compliance obligations. The role will give you exposure to different clients, business models, and financial challenges, allowing you to develop both your technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
From the outset, you will be trusted with meaningful responsibilities while receiving the training, mentoring, and support needed to help you grow professionally. As you progress, you will develop strong client relationship skills, gain practical experience in financial reporting and assurance, and work towards your recognised professional qualification (ACA or ACCA).
This programme offers an excellent foundation for graduates looking to develop a long-term career in audit and professional services or later move into industry. As part of the programme, graduates will be assigned to one of BDO's specialist audit teams, providing the opportunity to develop sector-specific expertise and build strong client relationships.

TAX JOB DESCRIPTION
The BDO Tax Graduate Programme offers graduates the opportunity to develop a career in a fast-paced and dynamic area of professional services. Working as part of our Tax Department, you will help clients meet their compliance obligations while supporting them in understanding and managing the tax implications of their business and personal affairs.
Throughout the programme, you will gain exposure to a broad range of tax matters, work with clients across different industries, and develop a practical understanding of Irish tax legislation. You will be involved in both compliance and advisory work, giving you the opportunity to build strong technical skills while developing commercial awareness and client relationship experience.

Audit Key Responsibilities
- Performing Statutory audits - Participating in audit fieldwork, including testing financial information and assessing internal controls. Working with audit technology and data analytics tools to support the delivery of high-quality audits. Assisting in identifying and communicating audit findings to senior team members. Preparing audit working papers and documentation in accordance with professional standards. Collaborating with colleagues across different service lines where required.
- Assisting with the Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements - Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Client Relationship Management - Play a key role in maintaining and developing professional relationships with clients, acting as a point of contact, and ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the audit process.
- Financial Management Information - Provide clients with valuable financial management information, helping them understand their financial position and offering insights to support their business decisions.
- AD-HOC Responsibilities – Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as required, providing flexible support across client engagements and internal initiatives while ensuring work is delivered to a high professional standard and within agreed timelines.
Tax Key Responsibilities
- Corporate and Income Tax Compliance - Assist in the management of corporate and income tax compliance for clients, ensuring all filing deadlines are met and that tax obligations are accurately reported.
- Legislation Interpretation - Interpret and apply relevant tax legislation during the preparation of tax returns, ensuring that all calculations and claims are fully compliant with the law.
- Tax Planning and Research - Conduct research to identify potential tax planning issues and opportunities for clients, helping them optimise their tax positions and reduce liabilities where possible.
- Tax Return Preparation and Filing - Prepare and file tax returns for corporate and income taxes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to both local and international tax laws.
- Ad hoc Responsibilities – Undertake ad hoc assignments and special projects as required, providing support across tax compliance, advisory, and client service activities while demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Corporate Finance & Recovery Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Restructuring, Reorganisation, Mergers and Acquisitions.
- Debt Advisory including investigation and balance sheet verification.
- Preparation of IM (information memorandum) documents.
- Market Analysis.
- Preparation and Analysis of Financial Projections.
Audit Requirements & Key Skills
- Expected or achieved an Honours Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
