AI Engineer x 5
Location: Dublin 2 (Clarendon Street)
Type: Full-time, permanent
About us
Idiro Analytics has spent over twenty years turning organisational data into decisions that stick. We work with telecoms operators, government bodies, utilities, construction companues and financial services firms across more than 40 countries. We are a Microsoft AI Cloud Partner.
The role
You will build and deploy AI systems for real clients with real constraints. Some of that is engineering: LLM applications, retrieval pipelines, evaluation harnesses, integrations into Microsoft 365 and SharePoint. Some of it is not engineering at all. It is sitting with a client's operations lead, working out what they actually need, then explaining what is possible and what is not.
This suits someone who wants both halves of that job. If you want to write code and never speak to a customer, this is not the role.
What you will do
- Design and build AI tools and agents, mostly on the Anthropic and Azure OpenAI APIs
- Run discovery sessions with clients, then translate what you hear into something buildable
- Present your work to senior stakeholders, often non-technical, and defend the design decisions
- Prototype fast, test honestly, and be willing to bin what does not work
- Write the evaluations that prove a system does what we claim it does
- Contribute to proposals and tender responses where technical credibility wins the work
What we are looking for
- Clear, confident communication in writing and in a room. You can explain a technical trade-off to a finance director without patronising them or hiding behind jargon
- Curiosity that predates this job. You pull things apart, read outside your field, and follow questions that nobody set you
- Drive. You move things forward without waiting to be told twice
- Creative problem-solving. Novel problems land here regularly and there is often no reference implementation to copy
- Strong Python, and comfort with APIs, version control and cloud deployment
- Demonstrable experience building AI or data systems that other people relied on
A tech degree is not required. We care what you have built and how you think. Self-taught, career-changer, bootcamp, physics PhD who drifted into code: all fine. Show us the work.
Helpful, not essential
- Consulting or client-facing experience
- Azure or Microsoft 365 ecosystem work
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworks or evaluation tooling
- Exposure to regulated environments and data protection requirements
What we offer
- Direct client exposure from the start, not three years of ticket work first
- Small team, short decision chains, no committee between your idea and trying it
- Hybrid working from our Dublin 2 office
- Pension contribution, annual leave above statutory minimum, budget for conferences and training
- Genuine variety across sectors and problem types
How to apply
Send a CV to [email protected] along with a few paragraphs on something technical you built or figured out, written for a smart reader who does not share your background. That short piece matters as much to us as the CV.
We are happy to hear from people who do not tick every box. If the description sounds like you in spirit, apply.
Pay: €34,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
