Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal
The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
Main Purpose of the role
The main responsibility of the Technical Support Investigation Engineer is to complete Investigations of final test sensor Out of Specifications at ADC Donegal.
Main Responsibilities:
Conduct investigations of Sensor Final Test Out-of-Specifications (OOS) and accurately document findings in accordance with established procedures.
Perform machine, process, and material reviews to support Sensor Final Test OOS investigations, ensuring all findings are thoroughly documented.
Take images using a microscope to support investigations and technical queries.
Complete applicable process metrics as required.
Support Database change requests to update oracle database status and values.
Support problem solving activities.
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives related to Sensor Final Test OOS investigations and processes.
Conduct general technical investigations as required.
Complete Engineering studies as required.
Support Corrective and preventive (CAPA) activities.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) in a scientific, engineering, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in product investigations, engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance within a regulated industrial environment.
Working knowledge of problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis techniques, and continuous improvement principles.
Strong technical documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
