We are a busy, vibrant city centre cafe looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team on a full-time basis.In this role, you will maintain kitchen cleanliness and assist our chefs with basic food preparation. Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred, but a positive attitude and a strong work ethic are most important.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashers to clean crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
- Wash large pots, pans, and cooking utensils by hand.
- Maintain hygiene standards by deep cleaning floors, counters, and walls.
- Manage waste disposal by emptying bins and recycling regularly.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks
- Unpack food deliveries and store stock safely in the storeroom.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with the team.
- Strong stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
- Excellent teamwork skills to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for weekends and daytime shift patterns , the roster is fixed and the shift pattern is Wednesday - Sunday.
- Right to work in Ireland is mandatory.
