General Operative/Forklift Driver
The General Operative/Forklift Driver will be responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse by safely operating forklifts, handling goods, preparing orders, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. The ideal forklift driver/General Operative candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to health and safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
The General Operative/Forklift Driver reports to the Warehouse Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Receive, inspect, unload, store, and accurately record incoming goods, ensuring all deliveries are checked for quality and quantity, and promptly reporting any discrepancies or damage.
· Accurately pick, pack, load, and dispatch customer orders, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with company procedures.
· Carry out stock movements, stock checks, cycle counts, and periodic stock takes to maintain accurate inventory records.
· Operate warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, complying with Health & Safety procedures and promptly reporting any hazards, incidents, or near misses.
· Accurately complete warehouse documentation and update inventory management systems in line with company procedures.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the role, as may be required to support the operational needs of the business.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
· Good organisational and time management skills.
· Physically capable of carrying out manual handling duties safely.
· Experience working with warehouse systems/scanners, an advantage.
· Forklift or MHE certification required
