Connolly’s RED MILLS is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician with a degree in General Science, Agricultural Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Food Science or similar.
Our laboratory is UFAS and BETA NOPS-approved and is working towards ISO 17025 accreditation. We collaborate with universities on method development and research. The laboratory in Goresbridge serves as the hub for multiple sites, including:
- Purcellsinch (premix, pet treats, Foran Healthcare, Carr & Day & Martin)
- CRM Gowran (dog food production)

- UHPLC Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry (drug testing & mycotoxin analysis)
- HPLC-DAD (Vitamin analysis)
- EDXRF (Mineral analysis)
- Near Infrared Spectrometry (Nutritional component analysis)
- YSI Biochemistry Analyzer (Starch gelatinisation)
- Wet Chemistry Equipment (Calibration & QC checks)
We are a small but dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment with exciting analytical challenges. The right candidate must be driven, detail-oriented, and a team player with a positive attitude.
Role & Responsibilities
- Sample Management: Receive, sort, record, and log samples into the LIMS system.
- Sample Preparation: Process feed, forage, premix, raw materials, and supplements for analysis across multiple species (equine, ruminant, swine, poultry, canine).
- Analysis & Compliance: Perform testing following established procedures and international accreditation standards.
- Quality & Audits: Support internal audits, quality inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Lab Maintenance: Maintain stock levels, assist with financial control, and contribute to health & safety improvements.
- Team Collaboration: Respond to testing requests, ensure an organised lab environment, and assist the Lab Manager as required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and adhere to safety principles.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum Level 7/8 Degree in General Science, Agricultural Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Food Science or similar.
- Full degree completion required (not a placement position).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent IT skills and familiarity with LIMS or similar lab software.
- Good organisational ability and knowledge of GLP and safety standards.
