CJ Sheeran Group, Ireland's largest manufacturer and recycler of timber packaging and pallets, is seeking an ambitious and driven Group Sustainability & Compliance Officer to join our growing team. With operations across Ireland and the UK, we are committed to delivering innovative, sustainable, and certified solutions while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance and compliance standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for a sustainability professional who wants to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Working closely with the compliance team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our sustainability strategy, ESG objectives, environmental compliance programmes, and management systems across the Group.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of the Group's sustainability and ESG strategy
- Assisting with carbon footprint measurement and reporting, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
- Coordinating sustainability projects focused on carbon reduction, resource efficiency, waste minimisation, water stewardship and responsible sourcing
- Supporting ESG, customer and regulatory reporting requirements
- Maintaining environmental and energy management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
- Assisting with audits, inspections, risk assessments and corrective action programmes
- Managing compliance documentation, licences, permits and certifications
- Engaging with customers, suppliers, auditors, certification bodies and regulatory authorities
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across sustainability, environmental and compliance functions
- Delivering presentations and training to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- A professional qualification in environmental management, quality management or a related discipline
- Proactive and organised individual who can effectively manage multiple priorities while building strong relationships across the business
- Experience in sustainability, environmental compliance, ESG reporting or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with experience collecting, interpreting and reporting performance data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence presenting information to both internal and external stake holders
- Strong project management and organisational abilities
