Workshop Controller required for Main Toyota Dealer in Ennis Co. Clare
Cummins Car Centre is seeking a focused individual looking for an opportunity to work with Irelands top selling car brand.
The position will be responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, coordinating service and repair work, managing technician workloads to ensure efficient, high-quality repairs with strong first-time fix rates.
Role responsibilities:
- Controlling service and repair work carried out in the workshop to maximise service sales and profitability
- Controlling the workshop through efficient operation of the planner and loading the work for each technician
- Maximise profitability by driving workshop hours and be responsible for utilisation, efficiency, productivity and technicians clocked time on each job
- The quality of work delivered is very important ensuring that there is a first-time resolution for every repair
- Liase with Service Advisers, warranty team and customers
- Ensure that all work specified on the job card is carried out and write ups are accurate.
- Ensure jobcards are completed with required details for the warranty team
- Where work over and above that specified is identified in the Vehicle Health Check (VHC) process advise the Customer and Service Adviser
- With colleagues ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are maintained
- Report to the General Manager any additional tools or equipment required to carry out work effectively
- Ensuring all working practices comply with company, health and safety and manufacturer policy.
- Assist in providing estimates for servicing, repairs and setting timescales.
- Maintaining thorough product knowledge and updating your knowledge through manufacturer led training
- Maintain special tools and personal hand tools to ensure safe working practice is always achieved. Defects should be reported immediately to the General Manager.
- Comply with health and safety standards
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a workshop controller, service manager or senior service advisor in a franchise dealership environment.
- Technical expertise in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer handling skills.
- Comfortable in using computers.
- Knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Keyloop, Kerridge, a distinct advantage).
- Clean Irish/EU driving license
