Ciaran Ryan Plant Hire Ltd is an established engineering contractor based in Macroom, Co. Cork. Since our establishment in 2013, we have developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality civil engineering, heavy earthworks, plant hire, and infrastructure projects across Ireland.
This is more than a Quantity Surveying role. It is an opportunity to work directly with the Managing Director, influence the commercial direction of the business and help build a company in civil engineering, infrastructure and renewable energy.
The Role
You will take ownership of the commercial management of our projects from tender stage through to final account.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing tenders, estimates and cost plans.
- Managing project budgets and cost reporting.
- Preparing monthly valuations and payment applications.
- Pricing and negotiating variations.
- Managing subcontractor procurement and accounts.
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
- Reviewing contract conditions and commercial risk.
- Supporting project delivery teams throughout the construction process.
- Producing cash flow forecasts and commercial reports.
- Helping develop and improve our commercial systems and procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive and enjoys working in a growing business where they can make a real difference.
You should have:
- A minimum of five years' experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
- A strong background in civil engineering, groundworks, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- A full driving licence.
