The Connemara Pony Breeders' Society was established in 1923 and are committed to supporting its members to establish the Connemara Pony as the world’s premier pony for sport and recreation through the provision of services of the highest standards of excellence, and to act in the best interests of its members and its affiliated Societies worldwide.
Connemara Pony Breeders' Society (CPBS) is based in Clifden, Co. Galway and is currently recruiting for the position of
Part-time Office Administrator for a fixed term of 6 months.
The ideal candidate for the role will approach tasks with the ability to prioritise effectively.
Key Tasks Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries, responding professionally via phone, email, and in person.
Process service applications across membership, registration, and inspections, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and databases are kept up to date.
Deliver a high standard of customer service by managing telephone and email queries efficiently and courteously.
Ensure all operations align with society policies and legal requirements, including GDPR for data handling.
Assist in coordinating and delivering Society events such as inspections, shows, meetings, and educational outreach activities.
Provide general administrative assistance to the Office Manager including document preparation, scheduling, and filing.
Carry out ad hoc administrative tasks as required to support the broader function of the CPBS office.
Be available to occasionally work outside regular office hours, on-site or at external locations, to support CPBS events and activities Any additional hours will be compensated accordingly.
Knowledge, Experience Skills
A minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative role.
Demonstrable communication skills.
Outstanding Telephone Manner Customer Service Skills.
To be proactive, decisive, positive and a problem solver.
Experience in a busy call centre would be an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Enthusiastic and flexible working attitude.
Full clean driving licence and own transport.
Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
9am - 5.30pm, 3 days a week based in the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society office in Clifden.
€11.32 - €14.15 per hour, age dependent.
