The role
Our company, Enda Lewis & Company, a proactive and client-focused accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Senior to join their team. This is an onsite role based in Allenwood, Co. Kildare, offering a 35-hour working week.
This role is ideal for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working with a varied portfolio of clients, takes pride in delivering high-quality work, and is comfortable working independently while supporting junior team members. We proudly serves small to medium-sized family businesses across Kildare, Dublin, Offaly, Meath, Westmeath, Laois and Wicklow. For over 30 years, they have supported their clients with expert business and tax planning, accounting, financial reviews and coaching services. They work with a diverse range of sectors including construction trades, consultancy, haulage, agriculture, retail and small charities, providing each client with a highly personal and tailored service.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for a wide range of companies, sole traders and partnerships across multiple industries.
- Prepare tax returns including Corporation Tax (CT1), Income Tax (Form 11), VAT, Capital Gains Tax and other Revenue submissions.
- Assist with audit assignments for companies and charities.
- Review and support the work of junior team members, providing guidance where required.
- Liaise directly with clients, responding to queries and providing a professional and responsive service.
- Support practice management activities including workflow management, job scheduling and maintaining accurate client records.
- Utilise a range of accounting software to deliver efficient and accurate accounting services.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Report directly to the Firm Principal.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and service excellence.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within an accountancy practice in Ireland.
- Sound knowledge of Irish accounting principles, tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
- Experience working with accounts production software such as Bright Accounts Production or Sage Accounts Production.
- Comfortable using a variety of accounting and IT systems and willing to learn new software.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- Proficient in written and verbal English.
- A professional and customer-focused approach to client relationships.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following systems is desirable (training can be provided): Bright Accounts Production, QuickBooks Online, Xero, AutoEntry, Sage, and Revenue Online Service (ROS).
- Accounting Technician qualification or currently studying towards ACA or ACCA.
- Eligible to work in Ireland for any employer for the hours outlined above.

Pay: €40,000.00-€47,000.00 per year
