Senior Engineer
Location: Cork
Minimum 10 years experience
We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Cork based office, supporting the delivery of large scale residential developments across the region.
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing and analysing structures, performing detailed calculations, preparing technical reports, using computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient project execution. The successful candidate will play a key role working on diverse civil and structural engineering projects and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and codes of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance
- Provide construction stage oversight and certification processes in line with requirements
- Review & respond to day-to-day technical queries relating to: Foundations & ground conditions, Concrete works and reinforcement, structural elements and building fabric, drainage and associated site services.
- Compliance with relevant building regulations (including Part M compliance, Part B compliance ).
- Attend site and online meetings as part of wider design and project team
- Liaise with contractors, design team members, and utility providers to ensure co ordinated project delivery
- Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation and compliance records, including the use of BCMS system
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural engineering
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Irish Construction Industry
- Strong knowledge of current construction practices and Building Regulations
- Experience in construction phase inspection, oversight, and certification
- Familiarity with the BCMS online system would be beneficial
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to resolve on site issues effectively
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Ireland.. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.
