Position: Part-Time Break & Lunch Cover Early Years Educator
Hours: Part-time, primarily covering staff breaks and lunch periods
Qualification: Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Learning and Care/Childcare, or a recognised equivalent
We are looking for a warm, caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join the team at our new Parkleigh Crèche on a part-time basis.
This role is specifically designed to provide break and lunch cover across our rooms, helping to ensure continuity of care for the children while supporting our educators throughout the day.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with different age groups and moving between rooms as required. This is an ideal role for someone looking for part-time hours while remaining actively involved in a high-quality early years environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cover in crèche rooms while team members take scheduled breaks and lunches.
- Support the care, wellbeing, safety and development of the children at all times.
- Work across different age groups and rooms depending on the needs of the service.
- Engage positively with children through play, activities and everyday routines.
- Support meal times, sleep/rest routines, nappy changing, toileting and other care needs where appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for children.
- Follow the routines, plans and guidance established by the Room Leader and wider team.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, colleagues and families.
- Follow all crèche policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and child protection requirements.
- Assist the wider team as required to ensure the smooth running of the crèche.
- Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Early Learning and Care/Childcare, or a recognised equivalent.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- A warm, patient and caring approach.
- Ability to work confidently across different rooms and age groups.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible.
- Willingness to complete all required vetting and regulatory checks for working in an early years setting.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, friendly and flexible and who enjoys being part of a busy early years team. As this role involves moving between rooms to provide break and lunch cover, you should be confident adapting to different routines and building relationships with children and colleagues throughout the crèche.
Minimum Level 5 qualification is essential for this position.
Pay: €15.00-€16.00 per hour
