Brockhill Boarding Kennels and Cattery has been caring for dogs and cats in Ballybrittas, Co. Laois since 2001. We're a family-run business known for high standards of animal care and a warm, professional service for our customers.
The Role
We're looking for a reliable, animal-loving person to join our team on a casual basis, mainly covering weekday shifts. The hours could suit someone fitting work around school drop-offs. This is a varied, hands-on role split across kennel and cattery care, front-of-house reception and admin, and for the right candidate, grooming support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Feeding, walking, and general care of boarding dogs and cats
- Cleaning and maintaining kennels, cattery, and outdoor areas to a high standard
- Greeting customers, managing check-in/check-out, and handling bookings and enquiries
- General administrative tasks (phone, email, scheduling)
- Grooming support or basic grooming duties, if you have the relevant skills or experience
What We're Looking For
- A genuine love of animals and comfort handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekday shifts, including cover at short notice
- Friendly, customer-facing manner for reception duties
- Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor, hands-on work in all weather
- Previous experience in kennels, a cattery, veterinary care, or grooming is an advantage but not essential, full training provided
- Own transport preferred, given the rural location
