Mental Health Recovery Support Worker

Highfield Healthcare is seeking a Mental Health Recovery Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service at our campus on Swords Road, Whitehall, Dublin 9.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting patients through a progressive, recovery-focused programme, helping them work towards greater independence and successful discharge from the Acute Service in line with their individual discharge plans.
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 7 x 12-hour day shifts per fortnight
Location: Dublin 9
The Role
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager / RSW Team Lead, you will work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team to promote recovery, independence and meaningful participation in everyday life.
The role is centred on supporting patients to take an active role in their own recovery, with an emphasis on the recovery principles of hope, control and opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Recovery Support Worker, you will support patients throughout their recovery journey, encouraging independence, self-care and active involvement in their individual recovery plans.
You will help patients identify their strengths, interests and goals, develop everyday living skills, and access appropriate therapeutic, social and community-based activities.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will provide practical support and guidance in line with agreed care plans, monitor and communicate patient progress, and assist with admissions, transfers and discharge planning.
You will also contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment while promoting patients’ rights, choices and connections with family, friends and the wider community.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must:
- Hold a QQI Level 8 qualification in Social Care or a relevant healthcare discipline; and
- Have previous experience as a Recovery/Mental Health Support Worker.
