Pizza Chef – Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of dough preparation, wood‑fired or stone‑baked cooking methods, and can deliver consistent, high‑quality pizzas during busy service. This role requires creativity, speed, and a commitment to maintaining high food standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, stretch, and cook pizza dough to a consistent standard
- Create pizzas according to the menu and house recipes
- Manage the pizza oven (wood‑fired, gas, or electric), including temperature control
- Maintain prep levels: dough, sauces, toppings, garnishes
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in line with HACCP standards
- Keep the pizza station clean, organised, and fully stocked
- Work efficiently during peak service times
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
- Receive and rotate stock, ensuring freshness and minimal waste
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role
- Strong dough‑making and stretching skills
- Ability to work with high‑temperature ovens
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work quickly without compromising quality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Creativity and passion for high‑quality ingredients
