Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Belvedere College SJ is seeking to appoint an experienced, energetic and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership of the College estate. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities, property, construction or engineering professional to play a leading role in the stewardship, development and long-term resilience of one of Ireland's leading educational institutions.
The successful candidate will ensure that the College's buildings, facilities and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, well maintained and fit for purpose across multiple campuses. The role encompasses strategic estate management, Planned Preventative Maintenance, statutory compliance, Health and Safety leadership, procurement, contractor management, capital planning and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facilities & Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Leadership Team, Financial Controller and Board of Management, providing strategic advice on estate management, operational risk and capital investment.
While contributing to the long-term development of the College estate, the Facilities & Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and operational performance of facilities and maintenance services across all College sites. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence throughout the campus, ensuring that buildings, facilities and services are safe, operational, well-presented and fully capable of supporting the daily life of the College.
The successful candidate will act as Secretary to the Buildings Sub Committee of the Board of Management, preparing reports, monitoring agreed actions and supporting Board oversight of estate performance, Health and Safety, capital investment and strategic estate development.
The postholder will also lead and coordinate the planning, procurement and delivery of refurbishment, capital works and estate improvement projects, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, within budget and to the highest standards.
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate.
- Significant experience in facilities, estate, property, construction or engineering management.
- Proven experience leading Health and Safety, statutory compliance and Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes.
- Experience managing contractors, procurement and capital projects.
- Strong commercial, financial and project management skills.
- Experience preparing reports for senior leadership, committees or Boards.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
