We are looking for reliable and observant Lighting Scouts / Field Inspector to work evenings and nights, travelling through assigned areas to check public lighting and identify lights that are not working correctly.
This is a straightforward role that would suit someone who enjoys working independently, driving, and being out on the road rather than working in an office.
Your main responsibility will be to travel through designated towns, villages and roads, identify faulty or non-functioning public lights, and accurately report their locations so that repairs can be arranged.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive through assigned areas during evening/night-time hours.
- Check public street and area lighting.
- Identify lights that are out, flickering, damaged or otherwise not functioning correctly.
- Record the exact location of faulty lights.
- Take photographs where required.
- Submit accurate reports using a mobile phone/app.
- Follow assigned routes and complete inspections within agreed timeframes.
- Communicate any issues or unusual findings to the team.
What We're Looking For
You don't need previous experience in this type of work. Full training and clear instructions will be provided.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working independently.
- A confident driver with a full, clean driving licence.
- Comfortable working evenings and nights.
- Good with a smartphone and basic apps.
- Observant and detail-oriented.
- Able to accurately record locations and information.
- Professional and respectful when working in different communities.
- Willing to travel between different counties as required.
