Mater Private Network are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic General Assistants to join our team at the Mater Private Network. In this key support role, you will help deliver exceptional care and service to our patients and visitors. You will work closely with catering, nursing, caregiving, and cleaning teams to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Food Service & Catering Support

Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients and visitors in accordance with dietary guidelines and status sheets (utilising CMA/PERL systems).

Maintain kitchen and service areas to high hygiene standards, adhering to food safety guidelines and the department's HACCP plan.

Manage stock control and replenish supplies in assigned work areas.

Engage weekly with the Catering Manager regarding food service operations and feedback.
Operational & Care Support

Assist nursing and care staff with non-clinical light duties, including changing patient beds and maintaining ward cleanliness.

Complete all assigned workflow schedules and keep staff room areas orderly.

Report any accidents, incidents, or complaints through the hospital's designated reporting channels.
Compliance & Standards

Maintain up-to-date mandatory hospital training, food safety credentials, and HACCP compliance.

Strictly follow infection control protocols, hygiene standards, uniform policies, and PPE requirements.

Utilise company time, attendance, and rostering systems accurately.

Communication: Excellent written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Teamwork & Initiative: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating individual initiative.

Flexibility: Full availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Willingness to work across Mater Private Network locations as needed.
