Wise Owls Afterschool is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team at our Scoil Mhuire Ballyhogue service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who is passionate about providing high-quality care and supporting children in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment.
Please note this role has a split shift requirement of Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Provider in the day-to-day management of the afterschool service.
- Assist in leading and motivating the staff team while promoting a positive and supportive working environment.
- Oversee the daily operation of the service, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Plan and support the delivery of fun, creative, and educational activities that promote children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, schools, and colleagues through open and professional communication.
- Assist with staff supervision, mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure the environment remains safe, clean, welcoming, and stimulating for all children.
- Support administrative duties, including record keeping, attendance records, compliance documentation, and communication with regulatory bodies where required
Essential Requirements
- Experience working in an early years or school-age childcare setting.
- A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and best practice in childcare.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a childcare or educational setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, support, and work collaboratively with a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's creativity, development, and wellbeing.
Desirable
- Relevant qualification in Childcare, Education, or Management.
- Advanced/Higher Certificate (preferred).
