Cleaner – Oakhaven Estate
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join the team at Oakhaven Estate.
Please note that this is a fixed term contract for August & September (2 months). An extension beyond these two months is not guaranteed.
The successful candidate will help maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the Estate. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail and can work respectfully in a busy residential environment.
Key responsibilities
- Cleaning communal areas, corridors, stairways, reception areas, offices, meeting rooms, dining areas and other assigned spaces.
- Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, toilets, showers and wash facilities.
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors.
- Dusting and wiping surfaces, furniture, doors, glass, fixtures and frequently touched areas.
- Replenishing soap, toilet tissue and other cleaning or hygiene supplies.
- Carrying out bedroom or accommodation-unit cleaning where assigned and authorised.
- Completing daily, weekly and periodic cleaning schedules.
- Carrying out deep cleans and preparing rooms or facilities for use.
- Collecting, separating and disposing of waste safely.
- Using cleaning chemicals, equipment and personal protective equipment correctly.
- Keeping cleaning equipment clean and in good working order.
- Reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, damage, supply shortages or other concerns promptly.
- Completing cleaning records and checklists accurately.
- Working cooperatively with colleagues and other service providers.
Candidate requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is preferred, particularly in a residential, accommodation, hospitality, healthcare or community setting.
- Ability to carry out cleaning duties safely and to a consistently high standard.
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Reliable timekeeping and attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A respectful, discreet and professional approach.
- Sufficient spoken and written English to understand safety instructions, product labels, work schedules and reporting requirements.
- An understanding of confidentiality, personal privacy and professional boundaries.
- Ability to communicate politely and respectfully with residents, visitors and colleagues from a range of backgrounds.
Physical requirements
The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, as well as bending, reaching and using cleaning equipment. Candidates must be able to undertake the physical duties of the position safely, including lifting items within appropriate limits.
Working hours
Hours will be worked according to an agreed roster. Depending on operational requirements, the roster may include early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, confirmation of eligibility to work and any vetting or pre-employment checks required for the position.
Pay: €15.00-€16.00 per hour
