We are looking for a confident, reliable and people focused Night Receptionist to join our team in the heart of Dublin City Centre.
Awarded the Most Popular Hostel in Dublin for four consecutive years and recognised as one of the best hostels in the world for groups, Abbey Court is a fast paced and social environment welcoming guests from all over the world.
We have 381 beds (55 bedrooms), with further plans for expansion in the future. Our rooms range from large dorms right down to double and single private rooms.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Night Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of the hostel overnight. You will be responsible for guest experience, night operations, safety checks, and handling situations calmly and professionally.
This role suits someone who is proactive, organised, confident working independently, and comfortable taking responsibility.
Please note: flexibility is essential, including availability to work Monday to Sunday shifts.
Experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous hotel or hostel reception experience
- Communicates confidently and professionally
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Can prioritise and solve problems efficiently
- Is friendly, approachable, and guest focused
- Takes initiative and responsibility
- Has strong organisational and analytical skills
- Is comfortable in a fast paced environment
Experience using Cloudbeds or similar front office systems is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and security of the building and guests overnight
- Conducting regular building patrols and handling any issues that arise
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
- Checking guests in and out efficiently
- Assisting with reservations and guest queries
- Upselling hostel facilities and services
- Answering phone and email enquiries professionally
- Preparing for daily arrivals and departures
- Handling cash, billing, and float procedures accurately
- Managing overnight operations and resolving issues independently
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area
