We are a leading lighting manufacturer based in Co. Monaghan, Ireland, specialising in high-quality, custom-made light fixtures for interior designers and trade professionals.
We are seeking a skilled IT System Administrator with coding experience to manage, maintain, and improve our IT infrastructure and business systems to join our team on-site in Mullan Village and contribute to the development of our in-house digital systems. The ideal candidate combines strong system administration expertise with scripting and programming skills to automate processes, support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational efficiency.
This role involves working with servers, cloud platforms, networks, security systems, and automation tools while collaborating closely with development and support teams.
In this role, you will design and build software solutions that support and extend our internal tools, helping streamline operations, automate workflows, and improve data handling. Your work will centre on developing new internal applications and improving existing systems that support order management, customer communication, and operational efficiency.
A key aspect of this position is the ability to work independently from a brief turning requirements into practical, scalable solutions. You’ll play an important role in shaping tools that have a direct impact on how our business operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and security
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Maintain backups, disaster recovery, and patch management processes
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues
- Automate repetitive administrative tasks using scripting languages
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Manage virtualization and container environments
- Maintain system documentation and operational procedures
- Implement cybersecurity best practices and monitor vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with software developers to support application deployments
- Assist with database administration and server optimization
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and standards
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
- Strong experience with:
- Windows Server and/or Linux administration
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, routing)
- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
- Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Coding/scripting experience in one or more:
