Team Lead- Product Engineer
The Team Lead- Product Engineer is responsible for leading a cross-functional team for the development and revision of product specifications, tooling and associated equipment. Responsible for liaising with the end customer to understand and implement their product requirements.
What you will do:
- Technical Leadership: Provide leadership, technical guidance and mentorship to the product development team. Fostering innovation and excellence.
- Team Leadership: Direct, coach and motivate a multidisciplinary team. Manage performance, prioritise workload and enable good communication. Recruitment of direct reports and responsible for the development and training of team members.
- Design & Development: Lead and co-ordinate the Product Development team to develop and design healthcare packaging products to meet customer specifications. Revision of current product specifications and drawings for customers and internal changes.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with R&D, Quality, Process Engineering, Production and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless product transfer from development to full-scale production.
- Co-ordinate the development, ordering and control of all process related tooling i.e. dies (roller press and sealing) and printing plates.
- Co-ordinate the maintenance & update of internal MRP and ERP systems relevant to product specifications.
- Analysis of machine capabilities and alignment with tooling compatibility.
- Co-ordinate orders through the system and liaise with suppliers, customers, planning and sales. Monitor the status of pending orders.
- Review customer complaints and ensure appropriate actions for the Product Development department.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.
Have you...
· Third level Qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
· Experience: 2 to 3 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing environment. (Essential)
· Leadership: Proven experience leading project teams or managing technical professionals. Demonstrate strong people management skills. (Essential)
· Excellent problem solving, decision making and project management skills with a proven track record in meeting deadlines. Accuracy, reliability and attention to detail are essential. (Essential)
· Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. (Essential)
· Autocad qualification and or business-related work experience. (Desirable)
· Working knowledge of SAP. (Desirable)
· Experience within a heavily regulated healthcare environment. (Desirable)
· Experience interacting with medical / pharma customers. (Desirable)
