About Flynn Crane Hire
Flynn Crane Hire is a leading provider of crane hire and lifting solutions, delivering safe, efficient, and professional services across Ireland & Europe. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Crane Lift / Lift & Shift Planner to join our team at our office in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
This is primarily an office based role involving the preparation of detailed lift plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and AutoCAD drawings to support crane operations on projects throughout Ireland. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed crane lift plans for a wide range of projects.
- Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Planning Lift & Shift projects.
- Creating and amending AutoCAD drawings.
- Carrying out occasional site visits and surveys.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and industry best practice.
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong computer and IT skills.
- Full Category B driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
Preferred Backgrounds

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience producing technical documentation, RAMS, or method statements.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Knowledge of lifting operations and construction site activities.
- Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) qualification.
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
- Experience working on Data Centre projects.
- Previous crane hire industry experience.
