At Shields Dental Group, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Dental Nurse to join our team and take the lead in delivering exceptional patient care, supporting our clinical teams, and helping our practice run at its very best in Roscrea, Tipperary.

What You'll Be Doing
As Lead Dental Nurse, you'll be a key point of contact within the practice, working closely with the Practice Manager, dentists and wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and motivating the dental nursing team
- Coordinating daily nursing operations and ensuring smooth clinic flow
- Roster Management
- Supporting the onboarding and training of new dental nurses
- Acting as a role model and setting high standards of clinical and professional practice
- Ensuring surgery preparation, infection prevention and control standards are consistently maintained
- Supporting compliance with practice policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Monitoring stock, equipment and surgery requirements
- Supporting dentists and clinicians during a wide range of treatments
- Ensuring instruments and equipment are appropriately prepared and maintained
- Helping to maintain excellent standards of cross-infection control
- Supporting the Practice Manager with team performance, communication and day-to-day issues
- Helping identify training and development opportunities within the nursing team
- Supporting a positive, collaborative and patient-focused culture
- Ensuring every patient receives a professional, welcoming and exceptional experience
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is confident, organised and passionate about dental nursing and who is ready to take the next step in their career.
You'll ideally have:
- Dental Nursing qualification and relevant experience
- Experience working within a busy dental practice
- Previous leadership, mentoring or senior dental nursing experience
- Excellent knowledge of cross-infection control and clinical standards
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A calm and professional approach, even when the clinic gets busy
- The confidence to support and guide colleagues
- A genuine commitment to excellent patient care
- The ability to work collaboratively with dentists, nurses, reception and management
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
IDA registration is desirable/required where applicable.
