Overview of Role
Our client is seeking an experienced ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Lead Implementer to lead the final design, implementation, governance, validation, and certification of its Information Security Management System (ISMS). The role involves working closely with an established internal ISMS team and driving the organisation through to successful external certification.
Role & Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end implementation of an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 compliant ISMS
Review and enhance ISMS documentation, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
Conduct gap analysis and develop remediation plans for non-conformities
Act as primary project lead and stakeholder liaison for certification activities
Ensure implementation and documentation of ISO 27001 clauses and Annex A controls
Mentor internal teams and provide knowledge transfer
Deliver progress reports, implementation roadmaps, and governance updates
Conduct internal audits and pre-certification readiness assessments
Prepare for and support Stage 1 and Stage 2 external audits
Drive the organisation to successful ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Strong expertise in information security governance, risk management, and compliance
Proven ability to lead complex security and compliance projects
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills
Experience collaborating with internal security, compliance, and governance teams
Experience:
Proven track record delivering ISO/IEC 27001 certification programmes
Experience conducting gap assessments, risk assessments, and internal audits
Hands-on experience implementing ISMS frameworks in enterprise environments
Education & Certifications:
Degree (Level 7 or higher on NFQ) in a relevant discipline
Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer (PECB, BSI, CQI/IRCA, APMG or equivalent)
CISSP, CISM, or equivalent advanced Cybersecurity Certification
Visa:
Irish/EU Citizen or Stamp 4 Visa holder
