Ross House Office Centre – Galway
Ross House is a modern serviced office centre in Galway, providing quality office accommodation to a wide range of professional businesses. We are seeking a practical, reliable and self-motivated person to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of our building.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work and is capable of working independently. No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in ensuring our tenants enjoy a safe, well-maintained and professional working environment.
Hours
- 30–40 hours per week, depending on the successful candidate.
- The role is primarily Monday to Friday during daytime hours.
- We offer flexibility in working hours where possible. While the role is mainly weekday based, there may occasionally be a need to adjust hours to facilitate planned maintenance works or accommodate operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day building maintenance and repairs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the building.
- Undertake minor carpentry, plumbing, painting and basic electrical repairs.
- Maintain lighting, doors, locks, furniture and general fixtures.
- Keep the building, grounds and common areas clean, safe and well presented.
- Liaise with and oversee external contractors carrying out specialist works.
- Respond professionally to maintenance requests from office tenants.
- Identify potential maintenance issues before they become costly repairs.
- Assist with room setups and occasional furniture moves.
- Help ensure the building remains welcoming, safe and operating to a high standard.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in building or property maintenance and be comfortable carrying out a broad range of practical tasks.
Experience in some or all of the following would be desirable:
- General building maintenance
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- Painting and decorating
- Basic electrical repairs (non-certified work)
- General DIY and repair work
Applicants should also have:
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work independently and manage their own workload.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- A friendly and professional manner when dealing with tenants and contractors.
- A full clean driving licence.
Trade qualifications are welcome but are not essential. Practical experience, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are equally important.
