Receptionist
Reports to: Senior Management / General Manager
Overview
Castle Grove Country House is a member of Ireland's Blue Book, with a farm-to-fork food ethos, an excellent wine cellar and an award-winning restaurant recognised for excellent customer service and fine dining. We're looking for a part-time Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our guests — creating a warm, professional welcome and ensuring smooth, efficient front-of-house service that reflects the standards of the house.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Welcome guests on arrival and departure, providing a warm, professional and personalised check-in and check-out experience
- Handle guest enquiries, requests and concerns promptly and courteously, in person, by phone and by email
- Provide information on the house, restaurant, local area and activities to enhance the guest experience
- Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively to ensure a seamless stay
Reservations & Front Desk Administration
- Manage room and restaurant reservations, including bookings, amendments and cancellations
- Process guest payments, invoicing and billing accurately
- Maintain accurate guest records and update the property management system
- Handle post, deliveries and general front-of-house administration
Communication & Coordination
- Act as a central point of contact between guests and other departments, including housekeeping, food & beverage and management
- Communicate relevant guest information clearly to the team to ensure continuity of service
- Support the wider team during busy periods and special events
Standards
- Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming reception area at all times
- Uphold the house's standards of service, presentation and professionalism at all times
- Comply with health and safety and data protection requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house or guest services role, ideally within hospitality
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Warm, professional and guest-oriented approach
- Well organised, with strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of computer software, including MS Office and booking/reservations systems
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Flexible availability, including weekends, as required for a part-time hospitality role
Pay: From €24,128.00 per year
