A broad Senior Financial Accountant job with full site visibility and influence
This Senior Financial Accountant job with a Galway based manufacturer is the ideal step forward in your career if you have previous manufacturing finance experience in areas such as management accounts preparation and some cost accounting exposure where you now want to have a job with full visibility over all departments and report directly to the No.1 finance person onsite. As the Senior Financial Accountant you won’t be pigeon-holed into a specific area or department, rather you will work across multiple departments such as Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering and SG&A departments to support non-finance leaders in managing their budgets and costs while also producing monthly management accounts. Among your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare month-end close and produce monthly management accounts including commentary on actual performance vs budget
- Use your commercial acumen to analyse gross margin by product and customer to assist in business decision making
- Contribute to the annual budget formation and produce standard cost variance analysis monthly
- Lead, from a finance perspective, inventory valuations, inventory counts, ERP system and 3rd party logistics providers reconciliations to minimise inventory losses on the balance sheet
- Business partner with department leaders to help them manage budgets, unearth variance drivers and work on cost saving initiatives
- Perform ad-hoc analysis for department heads on new product development, unit cost scenarios and pricing as examples
- Manage the fixed asset register accounting for depreciations and newly acquired assets
The package on offer is between €65,000-€75,000 including company pension contributions, hybrid working option, health insurance contribution and the opportunity to have a broad role with significant influence and visibility.
To become the Senior Financial Accountant you will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in management accounts preparation ideally in a manufacturing company be that medical device, biopharma, automotive, electronics, food processing, construction or similar product-based industry.
