INDUSTRIAL OPERATIVE
AFM is expanding its specialist cleaning division and is seeking experienced, reliable Industrial Operatives to join our professional team. This role suits individuals who take pride in high-quality workmanship, operate safely in demanding environments, and consistently deliver to a high standard across industrial and commercial sites.
This is a varied, hands-on role with long-term stability and opportunities to develop specialist skills within a growing company.
Role Overview
You will carry out a range of industrial and specialist cleaning duties across client sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver industrial and specialist cleaning services across commercial and industrial environments.
- Operate a range of industrial cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, scrubber dryers, vacuum systems, and other specialist machinery.
- Complete floor care tasks including stripping, sealing, and polishing.
- Carry out deep cleaning projects to agreed specifications and standards.
- Handle and dispose of waste materials and cleaning chemicals safely and correctly.
- Follow all site-specific health & safety procedures, including PPE, COSHH, and RAMS.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain a professional standard of work at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in industrial cleaning or a similar environment.
- Valid Safe Pass card.
- Full clean driving licence (essential).
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Proven experience operating industrial cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures in site-based environments.
- High level of attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Comfortable working in active industrial environments.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours when required.
Desirable
- MEWP / IPAF certification (advantage).
- Additional training in health & safety or site operations.
