AirconMech, Building Services Engineering Contractors, seek an experienced Estimator to join their expanding team. The position is a full-time, permanent role and will be based in the South-East.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of detailed tenders
- Conduct periodic review of work practices to identify appropriate cost saving measures
- Quantify material, plant and labour requirements for relevant projects
- Analyse sub-contractor quotations, checking inclusions and exclusions
- Negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports
- Source and categorise pre-project information
- Create a procurement schedule for the project
- Prepare cost reports and detailed estimates
- Complete the final handover to the project team
The Candidate:
- Relevant degree or trade background
- A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in Estimating with a main Building Services contractor
- Tendering experience with a knowledge or background in HVAC industry or similar would be highly desirable
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience in pricing projects, working autonomously and within a team
- Experience working towards tight deadlines and budgets
- A clear understanding of building regulations and legal guidelines is strongly preferred
- Strong negotiation skills
- Willingness to learn and be flexible as required
- Able to promote a positive personal/professional profile
- Role will be primarily office based but will require some travel to sites throughout the country evaluating potential work
